Clarence White PDF Print E-mail
Clarence began his career as a programmer for the Salvation Army in the Territorial Headquarters for Canada.  An opportunity to move to Price Waterhouse Coopers' IT Consulting practice became available, and he spent several years there developing tax software and providing IT Consulting and IT Audit services.  Then, in a position as Senior Systems Analyst with Tenneco, he helped establish a large IT department and became involved in systems level programming and network architecture design.

After acquiring many skills in industry Clarence returned to the Salvation Army, Canada and Bermuda Territory, as the head of the Computer Services Department.  At that time the Army's technology infrastructure was under-developed, and he set a course to strategically utilize technology to maximize the Army's mission.

In 1997 Clarence accepted a transfer to the Salvation Army Territorial Headquarters for the Western United States in Long Beach, California.  Since then major systems have been installed in almost every area of the Army's work, extensive IT infrastructures have been implemented, and the Army in USA Western Territory has become an international leader in the cost effective use of technology to meet its business and mission-related objectives.  Under his leadership the Salvation Army USA Western Territory has been listed three times in the InformationWeek 500 as one of the most technologically innovative organizations in the United States.
