David Szpunar (pronounced 'spoon - are'; the 'z' is silent) is the Network and Systems Manager at Lakeview Church in Indianapolis. Before Lakeview he worked for a local computer repair shop, followed by a 1½ years with a small mail order company doing everything from creating and updating their website to designing and maintaining their Access database.
David became the first paid IT staff member at Lakeview Church in August 2003, starting part-time and moving to full-time by March 2004. In 2006 his title was changed to Network and Systems Manager to more accurately reflect his position. As the one man IT Department he handles helpdesk support, servers, network, and anything else thrown his way, including some occasional website assistance.
In early 2007 David started to network with other church IT leaders around the country via blogs. He then began blogging about Lakeview IT to contribute to the community. He is interested in sharing with others in church IT positions through blogging, roundtables, and conferences. Other specific computer interests include cryptography and computer and network security, databases, and software usability.
